Be the guide to take clients from introduction to enterprise kanban

As part of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with organizations and individuals who seek Agile training, software, and materials involving the Kanban Method. Leads range from known players in our professional network, to direct sales inquiries, to contacts who visit our websites. This is an international market and you will be dealing with clients from major organizations around the world. You will be the guide who takes the clients through a long-term lifecycle from introduction to enterprise-level initiatives and professional development as trainers or coaches. You will engage them as members of our professional community with opportunities for them to interact and contribute at our events and workshops. You should be seen by the clients as a helpful coach who makes them successful.

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help define to the policies, processes and tools as we build our sales team.

The ideal candidate will have experience building client relationships (not just filling orders) and the ability to deliver results. Must be flexible and action-oriented, and must be capable of dealing with ambiguity, have strong analytical skills, and be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our culture is that of a start-up. We love using data to guide decisions and prioritization.

This role is preferably based in Seattle, although remote location is a possibility but would require periodic travel to Seattle. Some domestic and international travel is required to attend our events a few times a year.

Core responsibilities

Maintain a robust sales pipeline
Accelerate customer adoption of a range of products and services
Manage numerous accounts concurrently and strategically
Meet or exceed quarterly conversion targets
Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
Maintain long term contact to guide existing clients to new options
Assemble package proposals for clients including calculation of discount bundles
Clearly demonstrate current funnel status and projections


Experience and understanding of Lean and Agile methods and terms. Kanban experience is a big plus but training will be provided for the right person
5+ years of successful sales experience in relevant industries such as software, education, or professional services
Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
Experience in complex sales and leveraging data metrics to represent a value proposition
Experienced in communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly
Able to work independently and communicate well with distributed co-workers

Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
